Clinic vandalised over patient's death
Relatives of a patient, who died due to 'wrong treatment', vandalised Taher Clinic in Meherpur town on Wednesday.
The deceased was Abdul Khaleq, 45, of Gobipur in Meherpur Sadar upazila.
Parvin Akter, daughter of the victim, said her father was admitted to the clinic after he accidentally cut the vein in his left leg while working at a field on Wednesday noon.
Dr Abu Taher, also the owner of the clinic, took Khaleq to operation theatre around 12:30pm and completed operation around 2:00pm.
But Khaleq did not regain consciousness and was declared dead around 4:50pm.
As the news of the death spread, his angry relatives vandalised the clinic.
On information, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control, said Robiul Alam, officer-in-charge of Meherpur Sadar Police Station.
The OC said no case has been filed in this regard.
