Indian held at Banglabandha
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested an Indian national with Tk 20.50 lakh and a bottle of liquor at Banglabandha Land Port in Panchagarah's Tentulia upazila on Wednesday.
The arrestee is Pankaj Kumar Roy, 35, son of late Manaranjan Kumar Roy of Samarnagar village under Prodhannagar Police Station of Darjeeling district, West Bengal in India. He is the owner of a money exchange firm.
Officer-in-Charge of Tentulia Police Station Zohirul Islam said BGB men held Pankaj while he was entering Bangladesh through Banglabandha Land Port's immigration.
They also recovered the amount and liquor from his possession.
Later, the border guards handed Pankaj over to Tentulia police.
A case was filed with Tentulia Police Station against the arrestee under Money Laundering Prevention Act 4(2) and Narcotics Control Act 22 (Ga).
