Hacked Oikya Parishad leader shifted to DMCH
A local leader of Bangladesh Hindu-Bouddha-Christian Oikya Parishad, who was hacked by unknown miscreants yesterday, was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital from Faridpur early today.
Alok Sen, 58, general secretary of the parishad's Faridpur unit, was taken to DMCH from Faridpur Medical College Hospital around 2:00am, said Inspector Mozammel Haque, in-charge of DMCH police outpost.
Alok is now undergoing treatment at the hospital’s ward No. 101, the police official said.
He was hacked by two masked youths with sharp weapons in front of his house in Faridpur town's Ramkrishna Palli yesterday afternoon.
Alok's wife Shikha Ghosh yesterday said somebody called his husband out from their house. As he crossed the gate and headed towards the road before the house, the assailants started hacking him with sharp weapons.
“Hearing my husband screaming for help, I ran out of the house and embraced him. But two youths pushed me aside and hacked him several times before fleeing,” she said.
