Bangladesh Railway authorities will begin selling advance train tickets from June 2 to ensure hassle-free journey for Eid-ul-Fitr holidaymakers.

The preliminary decision was taken at a meeting at Rail Bhaban in Dhaka recently, Amzad Hossain, director general of Bangladesh Railway, told The Daily Star today.

The advance ticket for travelling on June 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15, will be sold on June 2, 3, 4,5 and 6 respectively, said an official of the Traffic Division of Bangladesh Railway.

The sale of the return ticket will start from June 9. The holidaymakers will get the ticket for June 18 on the day (June 9).

Besides, the return ticket for June 19, 20, 21 and 22 will be distributed on June 10, 11, 12 and 13, the official said.

All the tickets will be sold at Dhaka’s Kamalapur and Chittagong railway station around 8:00 am following the day. A person will be able to buy maximum four tickets.
