Satkania upazila in Chattogram locked down

Satkania upazila of Chattogram district was locked down by the local administration today to contain spread of the novel coronavirus.

Confirming the matter to The Daily Star, Nur-E-Alam, the upazila nirbahi officer, said they had gone for the lockdown as per the order of the Chattogram district deputy commissioner.

The restriction came into effect at 6:00am today and will remain in place till further notice. Emergency services, including medical services and supply of agricultural goods and food, will not fall under the purview of the lockdown, he said.
