Dhaka urges world to work together to tackle coronavirus

Bangladesh has urged all countries to "stand united" and help each other overcome the coronavirus outbreak, which may paralyse the whole world.

"We believe together we can overcome this pandemic sooner than later," said Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen while briefing diplomats stationed in Dhaka.

Momen also sought support from other countries for the safety and security of Bangladeshi citizens living there.

He urged governments across the world through their representatives in Dhaka to help Bangladesh missions abroad in performing their duties in this challenging time.

The foreign minister highlighted temporary decisions taken so far here and assured the diplomats that foreign citizens in Bangladesh will be taken care of like Bangladeshi citizens.

The briefing was held at the State Guesthouse Padma.  State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam and Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen were present.
