CMP DC Mizanur Rahman dies of Covid-19

Mizanur Rahman, deputy commissioner (DC) of Chattogram Metropolitan Police's Detective Branch (South zone), died of coronavirus while undergoing treatment at Central Police Hospital in Dhaka's Rajarbagh area early today.

According to a message sent from CMP's public relations division, Mizanur breathed his last at around 3:40am at the Intensive Care Unit of the police hospital.

He had been undergoing treatment at the hospital since June 28 and was shifted to ICU later as his condition deteriorated, said Additional Deputy Commissioner Saiful Islam of the hospital.

With his death, five policemen of CMP died of Covid-19 so far.

CMP Commissioner Mahabubor Rahman has expressed deep shock at his death and prayed for the salvation to his departed soul, reports our Chattogram correspondent.
