Man held with yaba pills at Dhaka airport

A person was arrested with 128 pieces of yaba at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka early today.

The arrestee was identified as Jahangir Alam of Brahmanbaria, who was about to fly for Malaysia with a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, an official of Dhaka City Special Branch (Airport Zone) told The Daily Star.

Based on a tip-off, a team of SB stopped Jahangir in front of the boarding counter in order to search him and found the yaba tablets in two packets hidden inside the heel of his shoes, the SB official said.

Jahangir has been an immigrant in Malaysia for 12 years and came to Bangladesh in vacation. He was taking the drugs to Malaysia to sell, he said during primary interrogation.
