Sweden reiterates support for Rohingyas
Sweden has reiterated its full support to Bangladesh for the ongoing Rohingya crisis as over half a million forcibly displaced Myanmar nationals took shelter in Bangladesh.
The assurance came from the newly appointed Swedish Ambassador Charlotta Schlyter while she was in a meeting with Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali at his office at the Foreign Ministry yesterday.
Referring to the upcoming pledging conference on Rohingya issue in Geneva on October 23, she mentioned that Sweden realises the need for additional humanitarian support for the Rohingyas, said a foreign ministry press release.
Ambassador Schlyter mentioned about admiration of the international community for the “patience and effort of Bangladesh handling the recent influx”.
