Prof Shamsuzzaman Khan was re-appointed as the director general of Bangla Academy yesterday for three years, according to a public administration circular.
A folklore specialist, he joined the academy in 2009 on a two-year contract basis, which was extended thrice. His term ended on May 23 this year.
Born in 1940, he started his career as an academician and served as the director general of the National Museum and Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
He won numerous awards including the Ekushey Padak.
