Road crashes kill 3 in Dhaka

Three persons were killed in separate road accidents in Dhaka in the wee hours of today.

Two of the deceased have been identified as Habibur Rahman, 25, and Habibur Rahman Habu, 14, our staff correspondent reports quoting Sub-Inspector (SI) Bachchu Mia of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police outpost.

Another victim is an unidentified female aged around 35 years, the SI said.

Habibur Rahman, a garment worker, was hit by a truck when he was trying to cross a road in Shah Ali Police station area around 9:30pm yesterday on his way from work.

He was taken to DMCH by the locals where doctors declared him dead around 12:15am today.

Habu was crushed under the wheels of a bus of “VIP Poribohon” at Uttara sector 1 around midnight. Doctors at DMCH declared him dead around 2:00am, the SI also says.

In another incident, an unidentified vehicle hit a woman at Kaola of Mirpur. She was declared dead around 1:30am at DMCH, Bachchu Mia added.
