The dustbin placed in front of the ancestral house of Jibanananda Das by Barisal City Corporation has to be removed, demanded dwellers at a discussion, marking the poet's 117th birthday yesterday.
They placed wreaths at Jibanananda's grave and held a poem recitation programme at his house “Dhanshiri”.
They also demanded implementation of the Dhanshiri River Eco Park project and excavation of the river, establishing museums, memorials and sculptures of the poet at places connected to his life.
