Youth sleeping on footpath killed in truck-lorry collision
A homeless youth who was sleeping on a footpath was killed following a collision between a truck and a lorry in the capital's Bangla Motor area early yesterday.
The identity of the man, aged around 25, was yet to be confirmed till filing of this report at 9pm yesterday.
Abul Hasan, officer-in-charge of Shahbagh Police Station, said the victim was sleeping in front of Zahora Square Market. Around 3am, a lorry hit a nearby truck from behind, leading the truck to hit the youth.
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead around 4am.
The OC said they seized the truck and the lorry, but the drivers managed to flee.
