Three killed in road accidents
Three people were killed and another was injured in road accidents in two districts during the last two days, according to BSS.
In Gopalganj, a youth was killed and another injured as a pickup skidded off a road and plunged into a ditch in Sadar upazila early yesterday.
The deceased is Mithun Sarker, 28, from Bagerhat.
Bhanga Highway Police said the accident occurred on the Dhaka-Khulna Highway at Gopinathpur. The victims were admitted to Gopalganj Sadar Hospital where the doctors declared Mithun dead.
In Sylhet, two motorcyclists were killed in separate incidents in the district on Thursday, reports our correspondent. The deceased are Kudrat Ullah, 40, of Companiganj; and Sharifur Rahman Kala Miah, 24, of Biswanath upazila.
Police said Kudrat Ullah was injured on Thursday evening on Sylhet-Bholaganj Bangabandhu road when a Sylhet-bound truck hit a motorcycle.
He was rushed to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital where the doctors declared him dead at midnight. Police seized the truck. Meanwhile, jeweller Sharifur Rahman was killed in another road accident in Biswanath.
