Road accidents kill seven
At least seven people have been killed and around 11 others injured in road accidents in the last three days, according to reports from our correspondents.
In Faridpur, a motorcyclist was killed as a tractor ran him over in Shimulia Bazar area of Bhanga upazila yesterday.
Hayat Caliph, 51, from Patrail village, died on the spot, said police.
In Gopalganj, a youth was killed and four others were injured as a bus hit a three-wheeler carrying them on Dhaka-Khulna highway in Muksudpur upazila on Friday evening.
The deceased -- Jashim Sheikh, 25, from Narail -- was a day labourer.
In Mymensingh, a farmer was killed after a truck ran him over on Boilor-Kalirbazar road in Aynakheth area of Trishal upazila yesterday.
Romiz Uddin, 65, was declared dead at Trishal Upazila Health Complex, said Azizur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Trishal Police Station.
In Bagerhat, four people have been killed and around seven others injured as a bus hit a human-haulier carrying them on Bagerhat-Mawa highway in Boalia area of Mollahat upazila.
The four -- Rubel Sheikh, 28, Jahangir, 30, Rana, 22, and Manjur, 65 -- were construction workers, said police.
Rubel died on the spot when the accident took place on Thursday. The other three died a day after.
