President returns home
President Abdul Hamid returned home yesterday afternoon, wrapping up his 11-day visit to Uruguay and England.
A flight of Qatar Airways from London, carrying the president and his entourage, landed at Dhaka airport around 4pm.
On his arrival, the head of the state was received by Law Minister Anisul Huq, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps Archbishop George Kochery, Brazilian Ambassador Joao Tabajara de Oliveira Junior, cabinet secretary, chiefs of three services, principal secretary to the prime minister, senior secretary to public security division of the home ministry, foreign secretary and civil and military officials.
The president left Dhaka on February 26 on an official visit to Uruguay to attend the country's presidential command transfer ceremony at Montevideo and some private programmes in London.
