Mesbah Uddin Bir Bikram dies
Maj Gen (retd) Mesbah Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikram passed away on Wednesday at his East Rajabazar residence, following a cardiac arrest. He was 78.
He left behind his wife Kaniz Ahmed and three daughters.
His first janaza was held at East Rajabazar Jame Masjid and he was buried at Banani Army Graveyard after the second janaza and guard of honour by the army.
Mesbah Uddin valiantly fought the Pakistan army in Lalmonirhat and led the freedom fighters in freeing the district in 1971.
In recognition of his valiant role during the war, he was granted the “Bir Bikram” title. His kulkhani will be held at his East Razabazar residence after Asr prayers on Saturday.
