Math Olympiad begins at JU
The three-day “National Math Olympiad” began at Jahangirnagar University (JU) yesterday.
JU Science Club is organising the event with the slogan “Bhabna Jodi Ganit Hoi, Ganit Niye Kisher Bhoi”.
Prof Khabir Uddin, chief adviser to the science club, inaugurated the event on JU School and College premises around 10:30am.
Around 5,000 students of class 6-12 from over 200 schools and colleges across the country are participating in the Olympiad.
Noted scientist Maqsudul Alam will be awarded posthumously for his contributions in jute genome sequencing at the closing session of the event. Information Minister Hasan Mahmud will also be awarded.
