A fire broke out at Gazi Tower in Posta Dhal area of Dhaka's Lalbagh last night.
Md Kamrul Islam, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters, said the fire originated at Gazi Tower at around 9:40pm.
Seven firefighting units rushed to the spot and had the blaze under control at 10:30pm. They completely doused it at 11:10pm, he said.
No one was injured in the incident, he added.
The extent of damage and the cause of the fire could not be known immediately.
In February last year, a devastating fire in Old Dhaka claimed the lives of 68 people.
