DSCC starts health service
Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) yesterday started a 15-day special primary healthcare service for those affected by dengue and chikungunya.
DSCC Mayor Sayeed Khokon inaugurated the service at Nagar Bhaban which will continue till July 30.
Addressing the programme as chief guest, Khokon said they are ready to ensure primary treatment for the patients and prevention of the diseases.
He said they formed 67 medical teams which will provide the service at 476 educational, social and cultural institutes. The residents of DSCC areas will be able to receive primary healthcare by calling a hotline number -- 09611000999, he said.
On emergency, the health workers will hospitalise the service seekers and treat them at home, said the mayor.
He urged the city dwellers not to be panicked, saying that dengue or chikungunya is recoverable through proper treatment.
He said they will also take steps to destroy breeding grounds of Aedes mosquito by this month to get rid of those viruses.
