DMP introduces digital multi-level car parking
A multi-level car parking space was inaugurated at the Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) Central Command and Control Centre building yesterday.
At this eight-storey parking facility, a total of 34 cars can be parked where only six cars could be accommodated before, according to a press release.
This is an experimental project. After analysing the pros and cons of the system, more such facilities will be built in the future, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammad Javed Patwary said after inauguration.
“It cost around Tk 8.5 crore….It's the third such parking facility in the country,” said Moinul Huq Jason, executive director of Aziz and Company which provided technical support to the project.
The first project was implemented by the company at the office of Fisheries Department in Dhaka, and the second one at Chattogram New Market, he said.
