CU admission tests begin today
The admission test for Chittagong University (CU) for the academic session 2018-2019 begins today, with 28 candidates vying for each seat.
The admission test will continue till October 31, where 1,36,247 aspirants from across the country have applied for admission against 4,926 seats under four units, said Deputy Registrar SM Akbar Hossain.
The number of applicants is around 10,000 higher than last year, against the same number of spots. Only those students, who have passed HSC this year, will be eligible for the entry test.
Admission tests to the B unit (Arts and Humanities) will be held on the first day, in two shifts.
The toughest contest will in the social science faculty (D unit) where 46,703 candidates will compete for 1,146 seats.
University authorities have already taken all kinds of preparations and have taken all necessary steps to hold the admission tests in a disciplined and peaceful manner.
Several teams of law enforcement agencies, Hathazari Upazila Administration and Chittagong Railway Authority will work in tandem to maintain law and order and discipline during the admission tests, according to university administration sources.
Several mobile courts will also work to protect admission seekers from harassment, and to avert attempts at cheating and fraudulence during the admission test, , they added.
