BRTA mobile court jails two brokers
A mobile court of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) in Chattogram yesterday sentenced two brokers to different terms of imprisonment.
The arrestees are Monirul Islam Badshah, 18, and Syed Abdullah Al Mamun, 30 -- both from Hathazari, said Amil Chakma, bench assistant of BRTA Executive Magistrate Ziaul Hoque Mir. Monirul was sentenced to seven days' jail while Abdullah for 15 days, he added.
Magistrate Ziaul said they had information that the two were working as middlemen and took money from service seekers at BRTA.
The same court also sentenced driver of a pickup truck, Mohammad Khorshed to 15 days' jail for not having proper documents, during their drive at Oxygen intersection.
