Law enforcers arrested BNP Vice-chairman Maj (retd) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed from Dhaka Airport today.

Mostak Ahmed, deputy commissioner (Mirpur Division) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), confirmed it to The Daily Star saying that a team of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested BNP leader Hafiz from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport this afternoon in a case filed under the Digital Security Act.

Hafiz was arrested after he reached the airport from Singapore, BNP sources said.

Besides, the Rab also arrested Col (retd) Ishaq Mian, chief of BNP Chairperson Security Force (CSF), in the same case, Nazrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Pallabi Police Station, told The Daily Star.

The elite force members also handed over Ishaq and Hafiz to the police station around 1:50pm and around 8:30pm respectively, the OC added.
