Bangabandhu Birth Centenary: 100-day countdown to begin Dec 8
The 100-day countdown to the grand celebrations of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman will begin on December 8.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the countdown across the country ahead of the yearlong celebrations that will open at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital on March 17 next year.
The information was shared yesterday evening at a preparatory meeting on the celebrations of the birth centenary.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, president of the National Committee for the Celebration of the Birth Centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, presided over the meeting held at the Gono Bhaban.
The meeting discussed countrywide programmes to be drawn up on the occasion of the birth centenary of Bangabandhu.
At the outset of the meeting, Chief Coordinator of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Birth Centenary Celebration National Implementation Committee Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury highlighted various aspects of the programmes through a video presentation.
PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said the prime minister witnessed the presentation and gave various directives in this regard.
