Police Week 2020: 605 cops get IGP badges
A total of 605 police members were awarded “IGP’s Exemplary Good Service Badge” yesterday, in recognition of their performance in the last one year.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammad Javed Patwary handed over the award to members of 19 units -- including police, Rab and Detective Branch on the third day of Police Week.
The IGP also handed over certificate and Tk 20,000 to each awardee during the programme, held at Rajarbagh Police Lines grounds in the capital.
On January 5, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the six-day Police Week-2020 at the police lines.
IGP Javed Patwary also provided Tk 10,000 each to 1,000 members of different units of police, who performed parade on the first day of Police Week-2020.
Speaking on the occasion, Javed Patwary said legal and departmental action will be taken against officers involved in drug-related activities.
He also urged the officers-in-charge (OCs) to turn their police stations into model ones. “We want to build every police station as symbols of confidence and dependence for people,” the IGP added.
