Govt to introduce 'auto gas' instead of CNG: State minister

State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid today said the government has taken initiative to introduce 'auto gas' instead of CNG (Compressed Natural Gas).

"The initiative has been taken to ensure the highest uses of natural gas by fulfilling ever increasing demand of gas," he said replying to a question of treasury bench member Didarul Alam at the Jatiya Sangsad.

Nasrul said the government has already formulated the "Setting up of auto gas refueling station and conversion workshop and management and maintenance policy-2016" for ensuring security and proper management.

The government has also formulated "LP gas operational Licensing Policy-2017," he added.

The state minister said the present government has already given approval to four organisations --  Orion, Beximco, Omera and Bashundhara to set up auto gas service stations.
