Cancer patient, ambulance driver killed in Ctg road accident
A cancer patient and the driver of an ambulance carrying the patient were killed and four others injured as the vehicle hit a covered van from the behind on Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Chhoto Darogar Hat area of Sitakunda upazila in Chittagong yesterday, said police.
Akkas Miah, 65, the patient, along with his family members was returning to Chittagong from Dhaka, they said.
Akkas underwent treatment at a Dhaka hospital, said police.
The accident happened as Sanaullah, the ambulance driver, lost control over the steering, said the law enforcers.
The injured were given treatment at Sitakunda Upazila Health Complex.
Our Patuakhali correspondent adds, Rasel, 20, son of Amjad Khan, was killed and his brother Mamun injured as a battery-run auto-rickshaw carrying them was hit by a truck on Amtali-Barguna road in Chowrasta area of Amtali upazila in Barguna on Wednesday night.
