Bangladesh for greater economic ties with India
Bangladesh High Commissioner to India Syed Muazzem Ali yesterday said Bangladesh and India should combine their synergies in the areas of connectivity, trade, commerce and energy for the mutual benefit of the two neighbours and the region.
“Connectivity offers a game-changing opportunity,” he said while speaking as a guest of honour at a seminar on “Political Economy of Bangladesh” at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), India. The seminar was organised by the Centre for South Asian Studies (CSAS). JNU Vice-Chancellor Prof Jagadesh Kumar presided over the seminar while CSAS Chairman Prof Sanjay Bhardwaj conducted it.
Md Abul Kalam Azad, principal coordinator (SDG affairs) at PMO, Bangladesh; Dr Qazi Kholiquzzaman, chairman of Palli Karma Sahayak Foundation; Prof Chintamoni Mahapatra, JNU rector; and Sheikh Fazle Fahim, senior vice president of FBCCI, attended the seminar.
