Abrar murder case shifted to Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court
Buet student Abrar Fahad murder case has been transferred to Dhaka Metropolitan Session Judges’ Court from Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate for its trial.
On completion of all formalities, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Kaisarul Islam passed the order today.
On January 5, the same court ordered to publish an advertisement in two national dailies asking four fugitive accused to appear before it today (Monday). Police have already published the advertisement and submitted it to the court today.
On October 7, Abrar, a second-year student of electrical and electronics engineering department of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, was beaten to death by a group of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) men at the university’s Sher-e-Bangla Hall in Dhaka.
On November 13 last year, Detective Branch of police submitted a charge sheet against 25 Buet students. Among them, a total of 22 accused in the case are now in jail.
