6 Bangladeshi students to attend 13th IJSO on Friday
A team of six students will attend the 13th International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) to be held on Friday in Bali, Indonesia.
The announcement came at a press conference at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the capital yesterday.
The Society for the Popularisation of Science, Bangladesh (SPSB) and Bangladesh Freedom Foundation (BFF) selected the six students through different sessions of the Bangladesh Junior Science Olympiad (BDJSO) which began on August 27. Around 400 students participated in the national level Olympiad.
The Six participants are Fardim Munir of Sir John Wilson School and College, Tahmid Mosaddek of Notre Dame College, AKM Sadman Mahmud Abir of Pabna Zila School, Nihal Juhayer Porosh Miyaji of Comilla Zila School, Ahmed Nafis Farhan of Nasirabad Government High School, and Miraj Ahmed Sadi of BF Shahin English School.
Prof Jamilur Reza Choudhury, who was present at the press conference, said IJSO is an international competition, which started in 2004, for students under the age of 15. Bangladeshi students have been participating in the contest from last year.
