SOS provides food, essentials to 610 Bogura families
The Bogura wing of SOS Children's Village distributed nutritious food items and hygiene kits among 610 unprivileged families of the region under a project titled "Support Covid-19 Response in Bangladesh Phase-2" yesterday morning.
SOS Children's Villages is an independent, non-governmental, nonprofit international development organisation headquartered in Innsbruck, Austria. The organisation provides humanitarian and developmental assistance to children in need and protects their interests and rights around the world.
Md Nurul Islam Deputy commissioner (Revenue) distributed 25kg rice, 1-litre soybean oil, 1kg salt, 1kg lentil, 500-gramme powdered milk, 1kg sugar and other products to the beneficiaries in presence of SOS officials.
Presiding over the event, Atikur Rahman, director of SOS Children's Village Bogura, strongly condemned child marriage and advocated for women's education and empowerment.
Acting Principal of SOS Hermann Gmeiner School and College Bogura, Shital Kumar Sarkar, Assistant Director of SOS Children's Village Md Asaduzzaman, In charge of SOS social centre Md Faisal Karim, along with various project officials of SOS Children's Village Bogura, were present at the event.
