610 unprivileged families get essential food and hygiene kits in Bogura
Around 610 unprivileged families received nutritious food items and hygiene kits under the project titled "Support Covid-19 Response in Bangladesh Phase-2" in SOS Children's Village Bogura yesterday morning.
Md. Nurul Islam Deputy commissioner (Revenue) among the authorities of the SOS children's village distributed food items among the 610 beneficiary families including 25 kg of rice, 1 litre of soybean oil, 1 kg of salt, 1 kg of lentils, 500 g Powdered milk, 1 kg sugar, 250 g biscuits, 250 g Horlicks, 4 soaps, 500 g detergent and 4 masks) to ensure the Nutrition to vulnerable family's children
In the chief guest's speech Md. Nurul Islam said to the beneficiary families to empower themselves rather than the help of SOS Bogura. He also highly appreciated all activities of SOS children's village Bangladesh and kept the promise to help SOS Bangladesh.
Atikur Rahman, Director of SOS Children's Village Bogura presided over the program and said, to educate the family, society and the nation, we have to educate our children first. At that time, he urged the family members not to give their children early marriage. He also said, girls are not a burden to the family but blessings. They should be included in the mainstream of society by ensuring their education right.
Md. Rafikul Islam Chairman, 11-No. Namuja Union Parishad, Md. Enamul Haque Chairman, 6-No. Shakharia Union Parishad under Sadar upazila were present as special guests.
Acting Principal of SOS Hermann Gmeiner School and College Bogura, Shital Kumar Sarkar, Assistant Director of SOS Children's Village, Md. Asaduzzaman, in-charge of SOS social center Md. Faisal Karim, along with various project officials of SOS Children's Village Bogura were present at this event.
