Shujog.xyz, a new online platform for skills development, launched today
iSocial, a social enterprise aimed at women empowerment, launched an online platform called "Shujog.xyz" which will create opportunities for skills development, training and entrepreneurship for young men and women.
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak inaugurated the platform today in an online launching ceremony.
Barrister Anita Ghazi Rahman, chairperson of iSocial, Ananya Raihan, CEO of iSocial, AKM Aftab Ul Islam FCA, director of Bangladesh Bank, Md Arfan Ali, managing director of Bank Asia, and N M Ziaul Alam, senior secretary of the ICT division were also present at the event.
According to the developers, Shujog.xyz will offer training and certification to young professionals, students, and entrepreneurs, on a wide range of skills and help them find better income opportunities.
Barrister Anita Ghazi Rahman said, "this platform will be able to provide at least 100 million Bangladeshi people who live at the bottom of the pyramid with better training and decent income opportunities."
"Taking advantage of the demographic dividend and widespread mobile phone penetration rate of Bangladesh, our aim is to bring all young women and men into skills development and earning opportunities with Shujog.xyz," she added.
Zunaid Ahmed Palak said, "the government has already delivered internet to the remotest parts of Bangladesh. More than 11 crore citizens of our country are now using the internet" adding that "platforms like Shujog.xyz is crucial to reduce the digital divide among our citizens. We need to ensure that young people in villages and small towns can benefit from this online platform,"
