Dhaka and London stock regulators to exchange views on improving country’s capital market
The stock market regulator of Bangladesh will exchange views with London Stock Exchange soon in a bid to improve the country's capital market.
"We want to collaborate with the London Stock Exchange to develop our market", said Mohammad Rezaul Karim, spokesperson of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission, following a meeting with British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Robert Chatterton Dickson.
The British high commissioner came to the Commission today and met the top officials of the BSEC
A top official of the BSEC, preferring anonymity, said, "It was not a business meeting but a courtesy meeting.
"We talked how our premier bourse, Dhaka Stock Exchange, can collaborate with London Stock Exchange and improve themselves," he said, adding they also spoke about collaborating with the stock market regulator.
BSEC Chairman Prof Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam was present at the meeting.
