‘Tomar Prithibi Chinte Paro Na’ spreads positivity and hope amid the coronavirus pandemic
A video, featuring the poem, Tomar Prithibi Chinte Paro Na, written by award-winning poet Kamal Chowdhury and recited by eminent cultural personality and Member of Parliament Asaduzzaman Noor, was released by Mindshare Bangladesh, through their social media platforms. The video is entirely produced by Ddhoni Chitra Limited, a sister concern of Asiatic 3sixty.
This individual initiative is an attempt to uplift the spirits of citizens, who are locked inside their homes, courtesy of the shutdowns and restrictions to combat the coronavirus pandemic.
The poem sends out an important message, urging people to stay at home for the time being to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
It portrays the harsh brutalities of the pandemic, and how our world has turned helpless in fighting the virus. The video showcases unusually quiet streets, venues and tourist attractions across different countries, including Bangladesh, as the world grapples with the coronavirus.
Naquib Khan, who tuned musical segments in the production, sings a few lines of the poem towards the end of the video. Bappa Mazumder arranged the composition. Rakib Rana from Ddhoni Chitra Limited is the video editor of the project, while the sound mixing was done by Mukto Neel.
Noor's powerful voice inspires us to fight, while looking forward to a better future. The poem is written to instill hope and confidence amongst the public in these trying times. It is also aimed at spreading the message of solidarity towards the frontline professionals – from healthcare providers and police to the sanitation workers.
The lines Harbena Tumi Bijoyi Manush, Dekhbe Shudin Ashbe, Baire Abar Shobuj Patati, Jholmole Dine Hashbe inspires us to fight back and make the world a better place by showing compassion.
