‘Selim Al Deen Memorial Festival 2020’ kicks off
Commemorating renowned playwright and theatre artiste Selim Al Deen on his 12th death anniversary, theatre troupe Swapnadal has organised the ‘Selim Al Deen Memorial Festival 2020’, which will take place on January 14, 15 and 17 at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA). This is the twenty-first edition of the festival.
The programme will feature a memorial procession, seminars on theatre and Swapnadal’s productions, Horgoj and Tringsho Shotabdi, among other arrangements.
The festival will conclude on January 17, with the seminar, Oitijjhyobahi Bangla Nattyoriti Doitadoitibadi Shilpotottyo O Selim Al Deen er Nattyodorshon, at National Theatre Hall, BSA. The Inaugural speech will be delivered by Zahid Repon, while Mancho Sharothi Ataur Rahman will preside over the programme. Dr Lutfor Rahman, Professor, Department of Drama and Dramatics, Jahangirnagar University, along with theatre personalities Dr Shoma Mumtaz, Mannan Hira, Masum Reza, and Secretary of Theatre Group Federation, Kamal Bayezid, will be present at the event, among others.
