Online 3D exhibition ‘Virtual vs Real’ to open on May 10
The country's first virtual art space, Chitrakala Gallery, is going to organise a group art exhibition, featuring works by several Bangladeshi contemporary artists. Eminent artist-sculptor Hamiduzzaman Khan will inaugurate the online-based 3D exhibition titled, Virtual vs Real at 10:30 pm on May 10, through a live show on Facebook, YouTube and the gallery's website, simultaneously.
The participating artists at the exhibition include Hamiduzzaman Khan, Mustapha Khalid Palash, Ivy Zaman, Anisuzzaman Anis, Karu Titas, Najib Tareque, Preema Nazia Andaleeb, Gulshan Hossain, Bipul Shah, Shakila Khan Chayan, Azmeer Hossain, Palash Dutta, Shaymol Biswas, Shohag Parvez, Biplob Chakraborty, Masud Ahmed, Kamruzzoha, Sheikh Tumpa, Md Kauser Hossain, Suman Sarkar, Maneek Bonik, Damasush Hacha, Sadek Ahmed, Kamruzzoha Zzoha, Saida Sultana Rana, Iskindar Mirza and Angkan Zaman.
"I am glad to know that the virtual art exhibition is going to take place soon and I am happy to be a part of it," said Hamiduzzaman Khan. "The is a good initiative and I hope the exhibition will take away the monotony of our life right now."
"The coronavirus pandemic has made us rethink things about life, differently. The exhibition will be a breathing space for art lovers and collectors alike. I wish the galley a better future and a grand success of the exhibition," said renowned artist-architect Mustapha Khalid Palash.
Two artists and the owners of the gallery, Sadek Ahmed and Masud Ahmed, are organising the exhibition, which will feature 70 artworks by 40 renowned and promising artists.
"Cultural events and art exhibitions are now all closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. On the other hand, everyone is feeling the pressure and battling boredom at home," said Sadek Ahmed. Chitrakala Gallery, with its first exhibition, will try to offer art lovers and collectors interesting artistic displays."
Masud Ahmed notes that the world is becoming more and more dependent on technology daily. "We are moving towards virtual shops, virtual movies, and virtual games. Now due to global hyperbole, people are becoming more and more dependent on online and virtual media," he added.
