Actor Farooque taken to Singapore for treatment
National Award winning actor and Member of Parliament Farooque was taken to Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore this morning, due to his deteriorating condition. He had previously been admitted into two separate hospitals in the Dhaka and tested for coronavirus, dengue, malaria and typhoid -- but the results came out negative.
According to his family, special arrangements have been made to take him on a cargo flight, as regular passenger planes were not available.
The actor's family has been in contact with Mount Elizabeth Hospital, as he was treated there before. Upon their permission, Farooque left for Singapore, accompanied by his wife Farhana Farooque. "I request everyone to pray for his recovery," shares Farhana Farooque.
"I request everyone to pray for me. I only have one wish, to get well soon and come back among my friends and family," expresses Farooque.
Bangladesh Cholochitro Shilpi Samiti, Bangladesh Cholochitro Porichalok Samiti and Bangladesh Cholochitro Projojok Samiti requested everyone to pray for his fast recovery.
Born in 1948, Farooque made his debut with the film, Jolchobi, later on winning the hearts of millions with memorable performances in Lathial, Mia Bhai, Noyon Moni and Golapi Ekhon Train E, among other films.
