3rd Bangladesh Film Festival kicks off in Kolkata
The third instalment of "Bangladesh Film Festival" is underway in Kolkata, India. Inauguration of the five-day event was attended on February 5 by Minister of Information Dr Hasan Mahmud as the chief guest, along with actors Jaya Ahsan, Ferdous, Purnima and Riaz, among others.
Minister for Science and Technology, government of West Bengal Bratya Basu and Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla joined the festival as the guests of honour.
A total of 100 films will be screened in the festival, among which "Hasina: A Daughters Tale" was the first one to be on display.
Out of 32 full-fledged movies and shortfilms from Bangladesh, seven films produced by Impress Telefilm will be showcased at the "Third Bangladesh Film Festival". These are—"Jalaler Golpo", "Krishnopokkho", "Oggatonama", "Ankhi O Tar Bondhura", "Phagun Haway", "Iti Tomari Dhaka" and "Rajadhiraj Rajjak".
The rest of the films are—"Chhuye Dile Mon", "Underconstruction", "Poddo Patar Jol", "Baapjaner Bioscope", "Musafir", "Aynabaji", "Shotta", "Bhubanmajhi", "Shera Nayok", "Poramon2", "Debi", "Abar Boshonto", "Indubala", "Shahenshah", "Antorjala", "Maya The Lost Mother", "Kathbirali", "Ekattorer Gonohottya O Boddhyobhumi", "Jonmoshathi", "Gono-Adalat", "Hiralal Sen", "Kangal Harinath", "Ismail er Maa", "Shuttle Train" and "No Dorai".
En exhibition titled, "Bangabandhu O Bangladesh" will also be on display this year.
The festival will end on February 9.
