LiveSquare Bangladesh, in association with Norway-Bangladesh Musical Co-Operation and the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, is to host the first ever music weekend in Bangladesh, titled “Bangladesh Music Week 2015”.
The two-day event, co-funded by the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Dhaka and Concerts Norway, will take place on November 6 and 7 at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor will inaugurate the event. Renowned music professionals and artistes from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Australia, Switzerland, Germany, France, Norway and USA will represent their respective countries to explore, share and collaborate with each other on an international scale.
Bangladesh Music Week will feature a convention open to music professionals, media and artistes. In addition, there will an open concert each day featuring performances by several Bangladeshi and a few international artistes for a diverse audience.
The event aims at showcasing the wide range of Bangladeshi music to the world. The objective of this programme is to create a platform that will take a sustainable initiative to bring music professionals, policy makers, artistes, patrons and audience under one roof where they will be able to talk, listen, discuss debate and collaborate in order to bring a positive change in the industry.
