Bangladesh bags a duo at KWFF
The 4th installment of Kashmir World Film Festival (KWFF) concluded recently in Srinagar with the screening of Laila Majnu, a Kashmiri film. The week-long festival presented the awards in three different categories- International, National and Kashmiri. In the International section, Bangladesh won two awards according to reports. Tauquir Ahmed's Haldaa bagged Best Feature Film (Fiction) award while Zuairijah Mou won Best Short Fiction for her film Bhoy - The Fear of Silence. Best Film in the Kashmiri category was presented to Aasiya Zahoor for her film The Stitch (Teab).
In recent years, an array of filmmaking talents have emerged from Bangladesh, not only to participate in the festivals around the globe, but also come to light as proud winners in multiple divisions. Previously, Haldaa won four awards at the SAARC Film Festival and made rounds across various international arenas.
