Tigers win bronze in Asian Games
Bangladesh have won the bronze medal beating Hong Kong by 27 runs in the playoff at the Asian Games men’s cricket competition.
The Tigers put on a total of 162 runs in the designated 20 overs after winning the toss and choosing to bat first this morning at Incheon in South Korea.
Shakib Al Hasan was the highest run scorer at 46.
In reply, Hong Kong managed 135 runs with the loss of seven wickets within their 20 overs. Arafat Sunny claimed three wickets and Shakib two.
Earlier yesterday, the Tigers lost to Sri Lanka by the mere virtue of a toss in a rain-hit semifinal.
The final of the men’s cricket between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan has begun today at 11:00am Bangladesh time.
The women’s cricket team of Bangladesh won the silver in the Asian Games women’s cricket losing out to Pakistan by four runs.
