'Golpo Chalao, Film Banao', the campus-centric story-telling and film-making competition organized by 'Stop Not', popular snack brand from the house of Perfetti Van Melle, in order to create a paltoform to encourage the creative and talented youngsters of the country to showcase their talent of story-telling and film-making, has created quite a stir amongst university students across the country. To further fuel the flames of attraction, ten films will now be shown at the 'Stop Not Film Festival.'
This July, Perfetti Van Melle took the initiative to set up a film-making workshop titled, 'Stop Not Film Banao'. Accordingly, the next step of the process was to set up the contest titled as 'Stop Not Golpo Chalao, Film Banao'. Through this initiative, a host of talented young boys and girls from ten different universities have involved themselves in the learning of different parts of film-making – camera, lighting, direction, acting and the post production-making.
National writer Anisul Hoque was part of the entire journey of this process to inspire, encourage and motivate the contestants. Moreover, renowned film director Saraf Ahmed Zibon was an integral part of the journey as well.
At first, 10 universities were selected for the 'Stop Not Golpo Chalao, Film Banao' contest.
In the first part, that is the “Golpo Chalao” phase, organizers moved from one campus to another and collected independent and interconnected stories from each university.
In the second part, the “Film Banao” phase of the event, 10 short films were made out of those 10 short stories under the direction, acting and supervision of student teams from respective universities.
Finally, a “Best Film” will be selected through public voting on Facebook and SMS, as well as critical judgment by a jury panel of experts. The jury will also pick best story and best actor. Finally the winners will be announced and awarded in the 'Stop Not Film Festival' at the end of November.
