Electricity supply returned to parts of Sunamganj town this afternoon, four days after power lines were cut off all over the district on Thursday following heavy flood caused by upstream water and heavy rainfall.

"I was on the ground floor. After the water entered, I came to the balcony of the first floor along with other patients. There is no electricity. Candles are being used. I don't know how to get treatment,” said 58-year-old Farooq Ahmed, who was admitted to the Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.

More than 72 percent of Sylhet division is under water. Out of four districts in Sylhet division – 89 percent area of Sunamganj, 72 percent of Sylhet, 70 percent of Habiganj, and 50 percent of Moulvibazar was submerged.
