BNP's mass rally was held in Rangpur city today (October 29, 2022) demanding the release of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and elections under a non-party neutral government.
BNP’s divisional rally began on Collectorate Eidgah ground in Rangpur city this afternoon.
BNP leaders and activists have alleged that police raided various residential hotels in Rangpur city on Thursday (October 27, 2022) and the night of Friday (October 28, 2022) in order to harass them ahead of the BNP divisional rally in the district.
Rangpur has turned into a city of processions and slogans centering today’s public divisional rally of BNP.
The Collectorate Eidgah ground in Rangpur, which is the venue for today’s BNP divisional rally, was flooded with BNP supporters and activists this morning (October 29, 2022).
In separate programmes today (October 27, 2022), Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan and Information Minister Hasan Mahmud said bus owners and workers probably call for transport strikes ahead of BNP rallies, out of fear as their buses were torched and vandalized during the party's previous movements.
Rangpur District Motor Owners' Association has called for a strike -- from 6am tomorrow (October 28, 2022) to 6pm on October 29 – demanding ban on illegal vehicles, including three-wheelers, on the highway and an end to “administrative harassment” on Rangpur-Kurigram Road.
