Sunanda died of poisoning: Magistrate
A report by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate or SDM investigating the death of Sunanda Pushkar Tharoor, wife of Union minister Shashi Tharoor, today said the 52-year-old died of poisoning reports Indian news channel NDTV.
The magistrate has ordered further probe by the police to find out the cause of poisoning. Tharoor was found dead in a five-star hotel room in Delhi on Friday evening.
Yesterday evening, the SDM was handed over Tharoor's autopsy report conducted by a team at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in the capital.
Sources said the magistrate has not ordered the registration of a First Information Report of FIR against Tharoor as no one so far has made any allegation against him.
Tharoor had written to Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde on Sunday offering "full and unstinted cooperation" in the investigation into his wife's death.
