In the midst of a 200-year-old fishing festival in Sylhet
Each year the people of Bishwanath in Sylhet take part in the traditional Polo Bawa, a centuries old festival that managed to live on to this day.
People observe this nearly 200-year-old festival on the first day of the Magh as per the Bangla calendar.
On the day of polo bawa, people gather on the banks of marshes with various fishing tools like nets and polos to take part in the festivities.
