ICC announces Women's T20 World Cup schedule

Bangladesh are set to encounter Sri Lanka on their opening game of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup on February 12 next year in Capetown as the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the fixtures for the mega event today.

Bangladesh are set to encounter Sri Lanka on their opening game of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup on February 12 next year in Capetown as the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the fixtures for the mega event today.

The eighth edition of the event will begin on February 10, 2023, with hosts South Africa taking on Sri Lanka before Capetown hosts the final of the T20 World Cup on February 26.

Bangladesh finished the qualifiers as unbeaten champions, and finalists Ireland filled the remaining spot in the 10-team tournament.

The Tigresses are placed in Group 1 alongside hosts South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka while England, India, West Indies, Pakistan and Ireland are placed in Group 2.

In the group games, each team will take on the other four teams once. The top two teams from the two groups will feature in the semi-finals on February 23 and 24.
