Six-month-old with coronavirus symptoms dies in isolation at KMCH

A six-month-old, who was put under isolation at Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) with coronavirus symptoms, died early today.

The child breathed his last at the hospital around 1:00am, said Dr Shailandranath Bishwas, spokesperson of the KMCH corona unit.

The child, who was suffering from fever, cough and pneumonia, was admitted to the children's ward of the hospital around 3:00pm yesterday and later shifted to the corona isolation unit around 5:00pm, he said.

The hospital authorities collected samples from the deceased to ensure whether he was infected with coronavirus, the spokesperson added.
